Synopsis

My name is Aries Moore, also known as the Zodiac Queen to the world, and I am one of the biggest pop stars out right now. Being in the spotlight isn’t always what it seems to be. Everyone thinks it’s all glitz and in some aspect it is easy but nobody really knows what is done behind closed doors to obtain the glam of being in the spotlight. People don’t see the cons to being famous. Nobody sees the truth until it is exposed. There are so many crooked people in this industry that take advantage of artists who just wants to make their dreams come true.

I am one of those people. I just wanted my dreams to come true and thought I was getting that, but I was wrong. As soon as I signed that contract I didn’t know I had sold my soul to the devil. But just like the saying goes, what’s done in the dark will come into the light.

Reviews

The book taught a very valuable lesson, especially to the young readers you have who may be going through it. Ladies you are not a puppet with a string. You were not born with a remote control. Know your worth. I enjoyed reading this and I'm glad she survived and found her freedom 1st, then her happiness.

"I gave this book a 5 star rating, because it was so realistic. I liked that the author stayed on point with the storyline and did not wander off. This book I would recommend to anyone who gets abused or even to someone who is the abuser."

♈ Aries ♈

♈ Ten Years Earlier ♈

“Leave me alone.” I said to Stacy, one of the other teenagers that lived in the group home. She was the popular girl I guess you could say and everyone feared her except me. She did practically run the house because our foster mom, Glenda, favored her the most. Glenda bought her everything she wanted and kept Stacy up with the latest fashion while the rest of us had to fend for ourselves. There were twelve of us in that three bedroom house. Glenda and her boyfriend Frank had a room, Stacy had her own room with everything a teenage girl could dream of wanting, and the last room had two buck beds where four girls shared. I was not one of those girls that slept in the bedroom. Stacy made sure of it. The rest of us slept in the basement that had two buck beds and a few cots along with a few dressers and a small bathroom and closet that we all shared. Seven of us slept in the basement and shared everything because we didn’t get much. I was the oldest and I got treated the worst. For some reason Stacy hated me and so did Glenda. As soon as I stepped foot into the house they made my life a living hell, and didn’t get me started on Frank. He was a freaking pervert.

“You think you’re better than me Aries?” Stacy probed while pulling my hair. Getting annoyed I stood to my feet and pushed her to the ground.

“I said leave me alone Stacy. I don’t bother you so why are you bothering me?” Stacy stood to her feet and dusted off her brand new True Religion jeans. Once she was done she charged at me and tackled me to the ground. That was when the fighting began.

“I hate you!” She shouted at me while throwing a punch. I kicked her off of me and climbed on top of her and started throwing punches as well.

“The feeling is mutual!” I shouted back and grabbed her hair. She scratched me in my face trying to get me off of her, but the grip I had on her hair was too strong. As she continued to struggle I could feel chunks of her hair ripping from her scalp. Good! She screamed again and tried to kick me off, but it was no use. She couldn’t fight to save her life. Just when I thought she was about to give up, I felt something slice my hand. I immediately jumped off of her and examined my hand. This girl was crazy, she cut me. Before I could move or look up I got tackled to the ground again.

“I hope you die!! I hate you!” Stacy yelled and started to cut me everywhere. She aimed straight for my face. I blocked with my arms trying to protect my face, but that didn’t stop her from cutting me. I screamed out when I felt her cut me right above my eye and then on my arms. She continued to swing cutting me everywhere not caring about where the box cutter was aiming. That was when I realized she was really trying to kill me. Fearing for my life, I reached behind me and tried to find a weapon. Feeling something hard, I grabbed it and swung around and busted her in her head. Crying out, she fell off of me, clutching her head, and dropping the box cutter in the process. Anger surged through me and all I saw was red. I clutched the rock in my hand and crawled over to Stacy.

“You were trying to kill me. Well, I hope this teaches you a lesson!” I spat at her. Her response was a glare. Pissed, I swung the rock at her again, watching it connect to her hand breaking it. She screamed out in pain again, but I ignored her cries for help as I continued to beat her with the rock. I didn’t hit her in her face because my goal wasn’t to kill her. My goal was to make her feel pain and suffer. I continued to hit her all over her body, most likely breaking a few bones, until I was pulled off of her. I clawed and struggled against the person who was holding me but they did not let go.

“Are you insane?!” Glenda yelled rushing over to Stacy and crouching down next to her. That was when I noticed Frank was holding me from behind. “What did you do Aries?”

“She started it! She cut me with a box cutter!” I explained pointing at Stacy who was now withering in pain and balled up like a new born baby. I did do a number on her, but I do not care. She deserved it.

“You could have killed her Aries!”

“She could have killed me with that box cutter. She was aiming for my face and you don’t care about that at all!” Glenda glared at me before standing up and storming over to me. She raised her hand and punched me dead in my face making my nose bleed.

“She should have killed you! Frank, get her out of my sight!” Following her orders Frank began to drag me away from them. That was when I noticed all the other girls crowding around the back door watching the drama unfold. Frank pushed me past them and headed straight towards the basement. When we approached the basement he opened the door and pushed me down the stairs. I stumbled and fell before landing right on my left wrist. I screamed out in pain and tried to sit up, but it was no use. I couldn’t support my weight on my left hand.

“Stay down here and no food for three days.” Frank said before slamming the door shut and locking it.
